International Christmas Dinner 12/12/2019

Get excited! StudIT’s third International Dinner is nearly there!
This time, we decided to settle it as an International Christmas Dinner so we’re super excited to get to know if and how Christmas is celebrated in your home country! You can of course also join us if Christmas is not celebrated in your home Country 😉

It is going to take place on December 12th at the Martinssaal (Frischlinstrasse 35) at 8pm. Some of you will know the location by then from the Swabian Dinner.

To make sure that we all have a wonderful evening, it would be great if you could contribute something, like a traditional Christmas meal from your home countries to the evening.

We would be happy if you could bring some specialties from your countries. Please feel motivated to cook your favourite dishes.

You don’t need to cook for twenty people but we’re sure that more than three people would like to try your delicious dishes. 😉

You don’t want to cook on your own? Check if there are other people you can cook with! Feel free to use the StudIT Facebook group for this.

Do you want to perform anything? Do you want to dance a dance or like to teach us one? Do you want to sing a song? Do you want to read a poem or tell a story (you’re welcome to do it in your language)?

Of course the StudIT team will sing a German Christmas song for or with you guys!

Tell us your ideas!

Please let us know what you want to cook or perform until December 9th. This way we can plan accordingly. You can do this via e-mail to studit@uni-tuebingen.de.

PLEASE NOTE: The fee for the event is 1€ only – StudIT will provide drinks, dishes and cutlery and the location. Please bring some typical meal from your home country in return.

Long story short:

When: 12.12.19; 8pm

Where: Martinssaal, Frischlinstraße 35

What to bring: A dish from your home country

You can register here: http://www.studit-tuebingen.de/en/registration/

We’re super excited and cannot wait to have a wonderful Christmas time with all of you!

Please keep in mind! If you do not show up to pay the next possible office hour, your registration might be canceled!

Christmas and Medieval Market 08/12/2019

It’s beginning to look a lot like christmas! To get in the Winterwonderland- christmasspirit, we want to go to the christmas market in Esslingen. The special thing about this is that the christmas market is a medieval market as well. Which means besides the typical mulled wine you can also get tasty mead and a little journey through the time to the past of this beautiful city.

We will meet at 3.20pm in the entrance hall of the main train station in Tübingen and we will take the train together to Esslingen. There, you will get enough time to discover the market and enjoy one or more mulled wine. We will be back in Tübingen around 8.30pm (you need to travel back with us, otherwise you will have to get an extra ticket).

When? 08/12/18, 3.20pm

Where? Entrance hall of the main train station (bring your Student ID or your semesterticket!)

Cost? 2€ (Because we are leaving the naldo area and need to pay extra for the VVS area)

Looking forward to getting in the season spirit with you!

Please register here.

A weekend in Munich/Neuschwanstein 29/11-01/12/2019

There is already a huge waiting list! When someone of the regular list doesn’t pay, their registration will get cancelled and people from the waiting list will move to the regular list. If that happens you will get an email! Only people from the regular list can come by to pay.

Munich is famous for its picturesque location at the fringe of the Alps, its plentiful beer gardens typical for the Bavarian way of life or the Münchner Hofbräuhaus. So it’s high time for StudIT to once again pay a visit to the beautiful capital of Bavaria!

Join us on a weekend full of new impressions and experience an Old Town soaked in history! On Friday afternoon, we will visit the concentration camp of Dachau. In Munich, you will explore the numerous sights such as the English Garden, Odeonsplatz or Marienplatz during our walking tour through Munich. In the evening you can check out the vivid night life of the biggest Bavarian city!
Moreover, Munich has lots of museums and art galleries which you could visit. Also Nymphenburg Castle is not far away and is worth a walk!

As a special treat we will go to Schwangau – the home of fairytale castle Neuschwanstein. There we will have a nice little walk around the Eibsee to finish up our weekend and take a few pictures in front of one of the most famous backdrops of Germany.

(The castle is currently being renovated, so most of the few rooms one is allowed to go in are under construction. This is why we have decided against booking a tour through the castle, since there is not as much to see anyways.)

We will return on Sunday, in the evening, at roughly 8 pm (depending on traffic).

The costs for the weekend amount to 75€ per person. The fee includes 2 nights with breakfast in Hostel 4 You, the trip to and from Munich in our own comfortable coach, the entrance fee for the concentration camp as well as the tickets for public transportation.

When? Friday, 29/11/2019, at 7.40 am (departure 8 am, so be punctual!)
Where? Tübingen Main Station, bus platform D
Costs: 75,00€

As usual, you can sign up for the event here.

For this trip, we have 45 spots to offer.

Payment dates for the trip:

During our office hours at our office in Wilhelmstrasse 9, conference room

As always, come to the next possible office hour to pay for the trip, if you don’t you can lose your spot! If you want to go to Munich but cannot come to the next office hour to pay, you can have a friend pay for you, as well.

If you have further questions, don’t hesitate to send us an email!

We’re looking foreward to an amazing trip with you!
